If Sunday arrives and you have spent the whole week looking after everyone else, a beauty reset can be a small space that belongs to you. Pick something you would actually enjoy: clean hair, freshly filed nails, a favorite body lotion, or choosing an outfit while your music plays.
We can make room for ourselves without turning Sunday into another assignment. Here are a few ways to begin, whether you have ten minutes or an hour.
If you have ten minutes
Wash your face using your usual products, brush your hair, and put on something comfortable that you like wearing. Choose one finishing touch: lotion on your hands, a little fragrance, or filing a snagged nail.
Use the remaining minutes for yourself. Sit with your drink while it is still warm. Put on a song you love. Message a friend you have been meaning to catch up with. Let your small pause stay small.
If you have half an hour
Take a shower, wash or refresh your hair as needed, and use your familiar body-care products. Set out a towel and your clothes first so the experience feels less rushed.
Then choose one thing you often postpone: tidy your nails, clean your makeup brushes according to their care instructions, or arrange the products you actually use where you can find them. You get to choose what would make the coming week easier.
If you want a longer evening
Add a playlist and a fresh pillowcase. Take your time drying or styling your hair. Try on one outfit for the week, including the shoes, so you know how it feels together.
If beauty routines are feeling like work, spend the extra time differently. Read, call someone who makes you laugh, or lie down. Your reset can change with your mood.
Make room for Your Romantic Life
For a sweet evening, you might reach for soft pajamas, a pink manicure, and a scent you associate with comfort. For a wild evening, try a darker nail, a satin robe, and the playlist that brings back your going-out energy.
Both can be quiet nights at home. The point is choosing details that give you pleasure, rather than arranging a scene for someone else's approval.
Make Monday a little kinder
Set out something you want to wear, even if the day is mostly errands or work at home. It might be your most comfortable jeans with a pretty blouse, earrings you have forgotten about, or a matching lounge set.
Leave a little room to change your mind in the morning. Preparing an option gives you a starting point.
Let's look after each other, too
Ask a friend, “What are you doing for yourself this week?” Share your own small plan. You could trade outfit photos, choose a coffee date, or remind each other to use the lovely things sitting untouched in a drawer.
If this week has taken a lot out of you, choose the easiest version. Around here, you can show up tired and still belong.
Tell us on Threads: what is the one little ritual you want to bring back? Another Bunny might be looking for exactly that idea.
